It's official! No stopping now. 

No, I am not doing the marathon, just the 10k. Darren signed up for the half! Here we go!!!

Boating

This one time...Darren and I went boating with my sister Heidi, her family, and Sandra.  And we both got to try out wake surfing?  I couldn't quite get the rhythm enough to let go of the rope pulling me (and just ride with the wake) but Darren and I both got up!

So much fun!  Can't wait for next summer, hopefully we can go again!

Fall

This fall, I realized something. In my 24 years, before this October, I had never seen real fall. You know, leaves changing colors, falling, crunching under your boots, crisp in the air, fall.  And let me tell you...I'm a fan!!!

Christine Hunsaker

Years ago, there were a couple of posts on my sweet mother in law.  She passed away last month, on October 14th.  My wonderful mother-in-law went into cardiac arrest 5 short months after Darren and I got married.  She spent the next 3 1/2 years being taken care of in a nursing home in Las Vegas.  She passed away last month, on October 14th.  A few weeks before that, she had some difficulty breathing which landed her back in the hospital.  Darren and her 9 other children were able to get together one last time.  They took her off life support and she went strong for nearly 24 hours.  I unfortunately never really had the opportunity to really get to know the woman who raised my amazing husband.  Even still, I love her and will miss her dearly.  I can't wait to get to know her in the next life.  I am grateful for the life she lived, for the wonderful mother she was, for her testimony and example in living the gospel, and for raising such amazing children.  What a legacy she left behind.

The funeral service was wonderful.  All of her children sang for her, it was perfect.  Darren also spoke.  It was great to be with everyone again, even under the circumstances.  She had a wonderful life and we did our best to celebrate her.  I am grateful for the gospel and the knowledge I have of eternal families.

Camera

Darren and my anniversary is next week. He's not good at waiting, so I got to open my gift last week. He got me a camera for Christmas last week. Lately, we've been wishing we we had a zoom lens. You see, my backyard is pure wilderness. We have an owl (more on that later). We'd really like quality pictures of that owl. So...he got this bad boy!

I'm in love. Now our owl needs to come by for a visit so we can test it out. Thanks Darren! Here's it compared to my other 2 lens'

Rascal Flatts

In September 2007, Jessica (best friend turned sis in law in 08) went to a Rascal Flatts concert. Well, this September, we went again! This time, Sandra was with us. The Band Perry opened and I love them. It was a great night. Thanks for the idea, Sand!

My First NFL Game

A couple of months ago, Darren and I got to go to a Cardinals game. I'm pretty sure they played the Chargers. And I'm pretty sure it was pre season so I guess it wasn't even a real game. And we lost. Of course. But besides that, it was fun!!! Too bad most of their games are on Sunday.
